This week, Math Olympiad students presented their school blue prints to Kevin Buckley, the architect who designed the Memorial School and Marshall Simonds Middle School. The students worked for several weeks on the schools which included an appropriate scale, detailed floor plans, the total square footage of the school, and a few SketchUp presentations. Students had to think of where to place classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, stairwells, etc. and Kevin Buckley spoke very highly of all the schools. Here are some pictures of the students with Mr. Buckley and their designs.

Day 84 - Telling Time – The Math Olympiad Way - MSMS Math Olympiad Team
This post originally appeared on the Marshall Simonds Middle School Blog
6th grade Math Olympiad students recently created their own Math Clock. Students used exponents, variables, square roots, cube roots, absolute value, math vocabulary, fractions, and integers to represent all twelve numbers on the clock. This clock will definitely be hanging up in my mathematics classroom. Here are some pictures of the clock with the students who designed it.
