Day 180 - Bubble Man - Sarah Visocchi - Pine Glen Grade 4

Have you worked with bubbles today?  If you have washed your hands, brushed your teeth, and had breakfast (digestion), then you have worked with lots of bubbles according to the Bubble Man!  On Tuesday, we experienced an amazing show all about bubbles.  We learned some of the science behind bubbles, as well as received information about how to build our own bubble makers.  So get some bubble liquid and start making bubbles!

Can you make a snowman with bubbles?
Do you know how to blow a bubble around a dinosaur?  It's a whole new Jurassic World! Try it at home!
Ellie in a bubble!

Ellie even got to try!

Thank you so much to our Pine Glen PTO for enriching our students and teachers with such a fun program!

Day 81 - What's The Matter? - Sarah Visocchi - Pine Glen 4th Grade

We have kicked off our unit on matter with an interesting quest.  The students explained what they think they know yesterday about the topic and also came up with some rules for the three states of matter, which are solid, liquid, and gas.  Today Mr. Musselman joined us with 6 cups filled with a mystery matter.  Using the rules that we came up with yesterday, we tried to figure out if our mystery matter was a solid, a liquid, or a gas and then we presented it to the class.  It got a little messy, but we definitely had fun!

Next week, Mr. Musselman will be back for some more interesting exploration.  We can't wait!

Day 36 - It's Rocket Time in 213 - Sarah Vissochi - Pine Glen Fourth Grade

Do you know of Sir Isaac Newton and his three laws of motion? Fourth graders are learning all about force, motion and flight.  We are going to actually demonstrate Newton's third law: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction!

Each year our amazing Burlington Science Center helps  as we learn about this topic by acquiring rockets to build in our classrooms.  Then Ms. Pavlicek and Mr. Musselman come to our school and assist us as we set them off.  Join the fourth graders of Pine Glen on Friday, October 31st as we watch how gravity, lift, thrust, and drag are put into effect.
3...2...1...BLAST OFF!

It takes a lot of listening skills, following directions carefully and teamwork to build our rockets.  Check out the progress we made this week!  Captions written by the students of 213.
